Amazing Dedicated Server!

I got an Epyc Dedicated Server for my new application, and it's fantastic! The performance is incredible, way better than my old provider. Deployment was super quick, and I was up and running in no time. I'm definitely going to get more servers here. Highly recommend this for serious developers!

Good for AI, some setup time

I got an NVIDIA RTX GPU Instance for some AI development. The hardware is powerful and it's been stable. Initial setup took a bit longer than I expected to get everything configured perfectly for my specific libraries, but the performance once running was solid. Customer support was helpful when I had a question about network configuration. It's good value for the power you get.

Managed Kubernetes works well

I ordered a Managed Kubernetes cluster for a new project. The ordering process online was straightforward, and the cluster was provisioned within the promised timeframe. I used the Terraform Provider integration, and it worked flawlessly, which saved a lot of manual setup. The cluster has been stable, and scaling worked as expected during a load test. Support responded within an hour when I had a question about object storage integration. Overall, a smooth experience for critical infrastructure.

Fast server deployment

I needed a bare metal server quickly. The deployment for my Linux Dedicated Server was fast, which was great. Performance is good. No issues with it so far.

First VPS, good value

This was my first time getting a Cloud VPS. I signed up and got the new user credits, which made the first month very affordable. It felt like a good way to test the waters without a big commitment. The performance is fine for my small project, and the price was definitely right with the discount. I'd consider renewing.

Can you actually upgrade server resources like RAM or CPU without having to take the whole thing offline? That's a deal-breaker for me.

S Sophie S. 1 month ago
For bare metal, usually no, you'd need a new server or some downtime. But for their VPS or cloud stuff, you can often scale up dynamically.

Depends what kind of server. If it's a dedicated machine, that's kinda tough to do live. Cloud VPS usually has that flexibility though.

I live in New York. How's the latency going to be for a server based in Europe? Trying to figure out data center locations.

C Chris Y. 4 weeks ago
They have data centers in the US too, not just Europe. You'd want to pick one closest to your users for best latency.

G Greg 3 weeks ago
Yeah, check their data center map. They're in places like New York and Dallas as well as Amsterdam and Frankfurt, so you can probably find a US-based one for better ping.

Is there usually some kind of free credit deal for new users? Trying to try them out without committing too much upfront.

S Steve Okafor 1 month ago
They usually have a pretty good signup bonus. I got $50 in credits when I joined last year.

T Tara 1 month ago
Yup, definitely look for new user credits. I think it's often around $50-$100. Helps a lot when you're just testing things out.

Thinking of moving from DigitalOcean to Cherry Servers. How do their GPU instances compare, especially for AI stuff?

T Tara Whitfield 1 month ago
Cherry Servers definitely has more powerful GPU options, especially if you need A100s or H100s. DO's GPUs are okay but not as high-end.

T Tom 1 month ago
Yeah, I switched for GPU dev. The bare metal GPU instances here are way better for deep learning than what I was getting with DO's cloud GPUs. More control too.

What's their refund policy like if I order something and it's not what I expected? Easy to cancel?

K Kate 1 month ago
I haven't had to refund, but cancelling my hourly server was straightforward. Just stopped it and didn't get charged anymore.

S Sophie Whitfield 1 month ago
They bill hourly, so it's not really a 'refund' situation like buying a product. You just stop paying for what you're not using, which is pretty easy.

Any active promo codes for existing customers? All the ones I find seem to be for new sign-ups only.

N Nick 1 month ago
Not usually, most of their good promos are for new accounts. Sometimes they have seasonal deals around Black Friday or whatever though.

J James T. 1 month ago
Existing customer deals are rare. Best bet is usually the annual billing discount if you plan to stick around.

Anyone know if Cherry Servers accepts PayPal? Or is it just credit cards for payment?

A Alex Patel 1 month ago
I've always used a credit card. I think they accept PayPal and maybe some other stuff too, but not entirely sure.

S Shane 1 month ago
They do take PayPal, yeah. And I think bank transfers too for larger amounts. I just use my Visa though.

Hey, wondering how long it usually takes to get a bare metal server up and running after ordering? Need something fairly quick.

P Paula B. 1 month ago
From my experience, it's pretty fast, like an hour or two. Sometimes even quicker if it's a standard config.
6
T Troy Reyes 1 month ago
yeah, they usually say under 20 mins for most bare metal deployments. I got mine in about 15 last month.
